Challenge
A real estate developer wanted to build a Class A office building for their new, high-end office park.
The developer hired Perfection as a consultant to work with them to develop three different HVAC system plans that considered cost and energy efficiency.
Solution
Perfection provided comparison data for the following systems: chilled water, variable air volume (VAV) and water-source heat pumps. Both parties agreed that a VAV system suited their needs best, including an automated digital control system, energy-efficient HVAC equipment, energy-efficient lighting and individual tenant utility monitoring.
Results
The Class A office building operates efficiently and has low operational costs per square foot. Tenants will pay a premium for such space. Perfection’s design was more energy efficient than other Class A buildings this developer had built with other contractors.
