Challenge
Universities today face substantial deferred maintenance problems and soaring utility costs.
The university wanted to become more energy efficient in order to improve building operating expenses and to create a comfortable atmosphere for students and faculty.
Solution
Perfection’s solution included major HVAC system upgrades, including high-efficiency boilers, a mechanical system renovation, chiller efficiency upgrade and energy-efficient lighting. Building automation controls were installed to help regulate equipment efficiency.
Results
The project reduced energy consumption for the university, resulting in overall cost savings of $94,000 a year and a more comfortable environment. Perfection was awarded the 2005 Southwest Ohio Association Energy Engineers Environmental Project of the Year for solutions created for the university.
